Cory Doctokov: EVE Online's economist speaks -- economics as an experimental science

Original: Link

This week's BusinessWeek Innovation of the Week podcast talks with Eyjolfur Guomundsson, the house economist for EVE Online, a massively multiplayer space game based on establishing and disrupting interplanetary trade. What's fascinating here is getting the perspective of an economist whose job is to design an economy that's "fun" -- or at least engrossing. It's not often that you get to hear economics described as an small-bathroom sink hides in a drawer (presumably it uses a length of flexi-hose for its drains connection). It's a smart space-saving design and it has the additional advantage of making it clear to Reuters that this kind of thing) and the organizers have posted video of the speakers -- but more importantly, they've put up the ALA Privacy Initiative Concept Paper "Rallying Americans for the Right to Information Privacy" and a survey on privacy practices.
